Val d'Aosta

Val d'Aosta is not only a splendid Region for holidays in the mountains on account of its natural beauties, such as the Monterosa area in which the Residenza is situated, but also for its historical remains.
In Aosta, 70 km from Gressoney, you will find the Augustan Arch, which dates from the city’s foundation (25 B.C.), the Roman Theatre, with a good part of the auditorium and the stage still showing, and Sant'Orso, the city’s medieval complex with a very fine 12th century cloister.

Along the routes of the ancient travellers, perched above the Dora Baltea, feudal castles and towers evoke the fantastic Middle Ages of the Valle d'Aosta.

Saint Vincent, 45 km from Gressoney, has the largest Casino in Europe. Linked to the city by a funicular railway is the celebrated Fons Salutis spa.
